Gross pay$800.00

One weekly period, entered shifts only. The threshold and multiplier are your assumptions; daily overtime, legal eligibility, shift overlap and DST are not determined.

Your calculation, step by step

No black boxes
  1. Add paid shift minutes after deducting breaks: 2,400 minutes.
  2. Decimal hours = 40.
  3. Regular hours = min(total, 40); overtime = max(0, total − 40).
  4. Gross pay = 20 × (40 + 0 × 1.5) = 800 USD.

  3. Copy, share, save, or download your result. Saved inputs stay on this device.

How the calculation works

Weekly hours = Σ(net shift minutes) / 60; pay = regular hours × rate + overtime × rate × multiplier

Enter shifts from a single weekly period, including unpaid breaks. Overnight shifts require the next marker. The weekly threshold separates regular from overtime hours using your selected multiplier. The tool does not detect overlapping shifts or decide legal eligibility, daily overtime, paid-break rules or payroll rounding.

A worked example

Five shifts of 09:00–17:30 with 30-minute unpaid breaks give 40 paid hours. At $20/hour, gross pay is $800.

Reading your result

Use the main result together with its units and supporting figures. Display values are rounded; calculations keep their underlying precision. A change in inputs or assumptions can change the answer. Compare the step-by-step working with your intended use before relying on an estimate.
