Your calculation, step by step

No black boxes
  1. Start: 2026-01-01; end: 2026-10-24.
  2. Elapsed days = (end UTC midnight − start UTC midnight) ÷ 86,400,000 = 296.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your own values in the labeled fields. Check the units and assumptions before comparing results. Only the fields needed for your selected calculation mode are shown.
  2. Your answer updates automatically. Review the calculation steps to see exactly how it was calculated.
  3. Copy, share, save, or download your result. Saved inputs stay on this device.

How the calculation works

Days = (end UTC midnight − start UTC midnight) / 86,400,000

Elapsed days count the distance between two dates, excluding the end date as an additional counted day. January 1 to January 2 is one day. This tool counts every calendar day, including weekends and holidays; it does not calculate business days.

A worked example

January 1 to January 31 is 30 elapsed days, or 4 weeks and 2 days.

Reading your result

Use the main result together with its units and supporting figures. Display values are rounded; calculations keep their underlying precision. A change in inputs or assumptions can change the answer. Compare the step-by-step working with your intended use before relying on an estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Are weekends included?

Yes. These are calendar days, not working days.

Is the end date included?
