How the calculation works
Age in completed years advances on an anniversary rather than after a fixed number of days. Leap years therefore matter. This calculator uses date-only UTC arithmetic to avoid daylight-saving shifts. For February 29 birthdays, it treats February 28 as the anniversary in a non-leap year; legal conventions can differ.
A worked example
From June 15, 1990 to June 14, 2025, completed age is 34. On June 15, 2025, it becomes 35.
Reading your result
Use the main result together with its units and supporting figures. Display values are rounded; calculations keep their underlying precision. A change in inputs or assumptions can change the answer. Compare the step-by-step working with your intended use before relying on an estimate.
