How the calculation works
Speed combines distance and time. The international mile equals exactly 1,609.344 meters, and a nautical mile equals 1,852 meters. A knot is one nautical mile per hour. This converter does not translate running pace directly because pace is time per distance, the reciprocal of speed.
A worked example
60 mph × 1.609344 = 96.56064 km/h.
Reading your result
Use the main result together with its units and supporting figures. Display values are rounded; calculations keep their underlying precision. A change in inputs or assumptions can change the answer. Compare the step-by-step working with your intended use before relying on an estimate.
